Mom and I reached the Denver area around 10:00am. We missed rush hour and quickly popped out the other side of the city, ready to tackle the beautiful Rocky Mountains. We started the western expansion of our minds at The Buffalo Bill Museum and Grave. A beautiful lookout point and curated museum detailing the history of the Wild West Show and the legend himself.
The long ride through the Rocky Mountains of Colorado on Hwy 70 is magnificent. Vast and iconic.
After a day spent in the car, we came out on the other side of the Rocky Mountains and were rewarded with Grand Junction, CO. We rolled into town around dinner time, dropped our stuff at the Rodeway Inn and posted up at the Rockslide Brew Pub for buffalo burgers and beers.
We stretched our legs with a stroll up and down main street Grand Junction. A beautiful city with unique culture and an dedication to the arts. Local artists sculptures line the boulevards of main street like an outdoor gallery or sculpture garden.
Two full days in the car is exhausting. A good nights sleep is ahead.. tomorrow we hike!
